Every person deserves the chance to live a life of dignity. That's why LiebevollIch supports people in Kenya affected by poverty, hunger and social exclusion, with sustainable projects that offer hope and create new perspectives.

Together with our Kenyan project manager, we stay close to the people and their everyday realities. This allows us to help exactly where support is needed most, whether through education, vocational training, safe housing, food, or individual help in emergencies.

Our goal is not to make people permanently dependent on help, but to accompany them as they build a self-determined, independent life. That's why all our projects follow one clear principle: helping people help themselves.

House Building

Project: Building homes to house people in needArea of Work: Support for families and people living in poverty in the region

A Home Creates a Future

In Kiambogo, a village around 80 kilometres from Nairobi, many families live under difficult conditions. Insecure housing often means children can no longer attend school, and families lose their sense of prospects for the future.

Together with our Kenyan project manager, we purchased a plot of land and built two houses on it. Only local companies and craft businesses were involved in the work, so the project created not only safe housing but also jobs and support for the local economy.

After a careful selection process, two single mothers, each with four children, were able to move into their new home. The families take part in growing vegetables on the adjoining land, improving their economic situation. The goal is for the houses to serve as temporary homes for further families in need in the future.

Throughout this process, the families are supported by our Kenyan project manager and volunteer staff. This project reflects our guiding principle: helping people help themselves, because a safe home provides protection, dignity and new prospects for the future.
